Program Information
The American Red Cross works in partnership with Military Aid Societies to provide financial assistance to eligible applicants. Assistance can include funds for emergency travel, burial of a loved one, emergency food and shelter, etc. The Aid Societies determine the financial assistance package that will be offered through a grant or a loan.
Eligibility
Active duty service members and their immediate family, members of the activated National Guard or Reserve Unit and their immediate family members, and military retiree or spouse/widow(er) of a retiree.

Required Documents
Have the following information ready when requesting assistance: Service member information of full legal name, rank/rating, branch of service, social security number or date of birth, military unit address, and information about the deployed unit and home base unit (for deployed service members).
