Program Information

• Assistance for people who have a job/new employment and need help getting there
  • This assistance does NOT require an appointment;can be walk-in
  • Provides 30-day bus passes and $50.00 gas vouchers. Both are available once every 12 months.
    • Proof of employment is required for a bus pass.
    • Gas voucher requires proof of employment, valid driver's license, valid vehicle registration, and valid vehicle insurance policy
• Car repairs where the vehicle is needed for employment.
  • Requires proof of employment, valid driver's license, valid vehicle registration, and valid vehicle insurance policy.
  • Must not have had work done on vehicle due to specific auto shops who accept voucher in Sioux Falls.
  • Up to $300.00 available.
  • This assistance requires an appointment.
  • Only available once per lifetime.

Eligibility

For people who are employed (not those searching/looking for work, or needing to get to medical appointments, out of town travel, etc.). Also, for work transportation assistance, individuals are not required to have visited County Human Services first.

Required Documents

Required documents for car repairs and gas voucher: proof of employment, valid driver's license, valid and current vehicle registration, valid and current vehicle insurance (all must be in the same name). Required documents for bus pass: proof of employment.

Application Process

Walk-in during business hours.
