988 Mental Health Counselor (Part-time, Sioux Falls)
This is an ideal position for individuals who are interested in helping others and making a contribution to their community. Mental Health Counselors provide evidence informed crisis intervention, brief supportive counseling, suicide prevention, information & referral and follow-up services to individuals who contact the Helpline Center through 988 in emotional distress, with substance use issues or with suicidal ideation. Counselors interact with clients by telephone, SMS text messaging, and/or web chat. The position provides an opportunity to practice a wide range of clinical skills, and knowledge of the expanding field of behavioral health.
Job Requirements:
-Master’s Degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field required
-Additional experience working in mental health counseling or mental health crisis strongly preferred.
-Strong desire to help others

-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program staff and service providers

The SALSA Specialist is responsible for the programming and operations of SALSA (Serve And Learn Student Association).
- Plan agendas, arrange speakers, recruit projects and facilitate all Serve and Learn Student Association (SALSA) meetings at all participating schools.
- Provide regular communication with the SALSA Members and parents regarding upcoming volunteer opportunities.
- Manage SALSA social media accounts to promote opportunities and share updates.
- Oversee Youth Action Council (YAC) student leadership team including selecting members, facilitating meetings, and summer planning.
- Facilitate all SALSA volunteer events and group activities.
- Facilitate and train non-profit volunteer organizations to utilize youth volunteers
Job Requirements:
-Bachelor’s Degree
-Desire and Ability to work with high school youth.
