Senior Companions of South Dakota
Program Information
Provides friendship and free in-home assistance with activities to help older persons remain living independently in their own homes. Major focus is clients over 60. Small percentage of clients served are adults (over 21) with disabilities. Eligibility is based on need for service.
Senior Companions must be age 55 or older, meet an income guideline, and be willing to serve a minimum of 15 hours a week and to reach out and provide service to others. Senior Companions are paid a tax-free stipend for their volunteer work and mileage.
