Keep an eye out for the Red Kettles! Donations are used locally to support Share the Warmth, provide financial assistance to those in need, and many other projects in the Brookings Area.
Locations for 2024 include: Hy-Vee (790 22nd Avenue S.), Wal-Mart (2233 6th Street), and Lewis Drug (910 22nd Avenue S.).

Donations of new and gently used/washed winter coats, gloves, boots, snow pants, scarves, and hats are accepted year-round or during community donation drives.
Holiday Donations Program at Brookings County Youth Mentoring Program
Holiday Donations at Brookings Site
Brookings County Youth Mentoring Program would like the following to distribute to 100 mentees during the holidays:
- New or like-new board games
- Card games
- Puzzles
- Non-perishable stocking stuffers (small hygiene items, stickers, snacks, fidgets)
- Craft sets
- Small increment gift certificates or $10.00 gift cards to local establishments for Matches to use
Year-round, the Brookings County Youth Mentoring Program accepts the following donations:
- Supplies for activities and training (food, crafts, printing, etc.)
- Gift cards for Mentors and Mentees
- Organizations or groups may partner with BCYMP to volunteer as a small group to offer an event for BCYMP Mentoring Pairs and youth on the waiting list. Volunteers attending must be willing to complete a background check.

Donate a new toy or gift for a child ages 0-17 or contribute to ongoing needs which currently includes socks and underwear (all sizes), lotion, sippy cups, baby bottles, snacks (granola bars, cereal bars, Pop Tarts, fruit snacks, etc.), coffee, new bath towels, wet wipes, diapers (sizes 4, 5 & 6), hairbrushes, deodorant, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and laundry detergent (HE only;liquid or pods), and much more.
