Veteran Support Services Program at Disabled American Veterans
Brookings Site
A Veterans organization that provides support to Disabled Veterans and their families.
Primary focus in Brookings is to provide free transportation for veterans that have medical appointments with the Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital. The program is not part of the VA but this group does support them by running the DAV Transportation Network with them.
This organization is always looking for volunteers that have the time to drive for the DAV Transportation Network. Questions about driving the van or catching a ride to a medical appointment can be directed to the Brookings County Veterans Office.

Health and Social Needs Transportation at Sioux Falls Site
Lyft rides are available for varying health and social needs. Rides must be for a medical or social service need that meets an essential/basic need (i.e. getting food, going to work, etc.). Criteria needs to meet one of the following:
- Dow Rummel residents
- Vaccinations for adults
- Older adults (65+)
- Individuals with disabilities
- Rides that meet a medical or social need (no age limit on this category)
Rides are not guaranteed until client intake is approved by Helpline Center Transportation Specialist.

Madison Site
VFW and American Legion volunteers provide transportation, in donated DAV vans, for Veterans to VA hospitals and clinics for medical appointments. Please call at least one week ahead of medical appointment so drivers can be scheduled.

Statewide Transportation Network at Sioux Falls - W. 22nd Street
Provides free transportation to the men and women who answered our country's call in time of war. Volunteers drive ambulatory veterans to and from the VA Hospital and clinics and the VA Regional Office.
Pierre - Ft. Pierre Service Area Program at River Cities Public Transit
Pierre Site
Public transportation for a number of counties surrounding the capital City. Same day, on demand for ride requests. Out of town rides Monday - Friday from any RCPT areas served.Accepts Medicaid;there are many transportation grant opportunities available through RCPT. Transportation is available for medical appointments, shopping, employment, school, day care, senior meals, summer recreation activities, and other needs
RCPT coordinates with all other transit agencies in South Dakota and can facilitate a ride statewide. Also, is Jefferson Lines associated.

River Cities Public Transit (RCPT) coordinates with all other transit agencies in South Dakota and can facilitate a ride statewide for medical appointments. Additional rides for other purposes (grocery shopping, etc.) can be arranged during a medical appointment trip, but the main purpose must be for a medical appointment.
