Housing Department Program at Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate Tribe
Sisseton - Lydia Goodsell Street
Provides adequate, healthy, and affordable housing according to safety living standard and to create a suitable living environment to meet the needs of elderly, families, and individuals of SWO.
Programs include:
- Homebuyers Program - Provides down payment financial assistance to enrolled Sisseton-Wahpeton Tribal members who are seeking to purchase a primary home. Contact office for application and criteria guidelines.
- Housing Authority - Provides decent, safe and sanitary housing for all Tribal members seeking to eradicate substandard housing and eliminate homelessness through provision of supportive services and financial assistance programs.
- T Yamni Program - One-Stop Homeownership Program assists Tribal members with homeownership opportunities. Partners with SWO's Housing Authority and Homebuyer program:

GROW South Dakota is a HUD approved Housing Counseling agency and Housing Education Resource Organization (HERO) offering individual and online education for home ownership. Also offers one on one pre-purchase, rental counseling, and financial management for homeowners.
