211 Helpline launching July 1, 2016 in Lake County!
Help at your fingertips! Beginning July 1st, 2016, all residents in Lake County will be able to dial 211 from any landline or cell phone to easily access information on non-profit, social service and government agencies within the community. Individuals may also text their ‘zip code’ to 898211 to access the 211 Helpline. The new service is funded through a partnership between the City of Madison, Lake County, and Interlakes United Way.
211 is an easy way to connect people who have simple questions or need serious help to available resources. Anyone can use 211 to find quality information in a confidential and convenient way. Residents no longer need to spend time looking for resources or making multiple calls to find appropriate support. Callers can call for information on where to find food or where to get help for a loved one’s addiction among many others. The number operates 24-hours a day, seven days a week, and is a free service operated through the Helpline Center.
“We’re thrilled to bring the 211 Helpline to Lake County,” said Janet Kittams-Lalley, President of the Helpline Center, “We hope residents will call this number to connect with resources available in the area.”
