Six Sioux Empire high school students were recently selected as the 2010 Citi Youth Leadership Award winners. These scholarships are given to area high school seniors who have volunteered over 100 hours of service to their community in the past year.
Winners were selected by a panel of judges based on their commitment to community service. The youth will each receive a $1,000 scholarship from Citi, and will be presented with their award at the annual Spirit of Volunteerism Awards Luncheon 11:30 am to 1 pm, May 4 at the Ramkota. The community is invited to attend.

The Spirit of Volunteerism Luncheon is an annual project of the HELP!Line Center. The Spirit of Volunteerism awards are made possible through the generous support of the Independent Insurance Agents of Sioux Falls, Mitel DataNet, Children’s Dental Center & Parkway Orthodontics, First PREMIER Bank/PREMIER Bankcard, Argus Leader and Mitel DataNet. MetaBank also honors Volunteers of the Month at the event. Midcontinent Communications sponsors a commemorative program for the event.
